Weapon - AK47 [v2.0a] Description:
Here is a cool custom weapon, the very first one for SOF: the AK47 (every terrorist should have one)... This weapon replaces the Assault rifle!

Version 2.0a isn't an offical release! It is a combination of the AK47 v2.0 + the enemy-animations, repacked by GODh as a PAK-file...

v2.0a has reduced ghoul-polygons (very important if you want to use it on the internet) and all animations! All you need to do is find mucho bullets to shoot with wink

To me, the AK47 looks better than the Assault Rifle wink

Great job Phantomas!

Update 1.2: Fixed and added some animations (including enemy-animations)

Update 1.3: The GP´s are reduced, the barrel is smaller, the mainsite have a better texture, it matches really better in the enemy´s hand, and both files have a 10 frame animation!

Update 2.0: Reduced GP and new animation... but no enemy-animations anymore (temporary)!

Update 2.0a: Unoffical release (combination of AK47 v2.0 + the enemy-addon, repacked as a PAK-file (easy installation)

Note: This weapon comes without the orignal sounds! If you want those sounds, please download this!

Too bad, i have found an error with the AK47! Shoot your bullets till you have less than 1 magazin (30 bullets) left... Then try to reload frown

the problem can be caused by the auto-reload option in server config, which won't let you reload till the magazine has 0 rounds

Don't know if this'll help any but when I was messing around with skinning models and the world model skins are located in the Ghoul/user/enemy/bolt directory. So I think the w_weapons are also boltons. I belive this is where you would place the created w_weapons.

Whatever doesn't kill ya..only makes me laugh harder!

You have to extract the zip (including foldernames) to you SOF-directory!

Or do it the godh-style and create yourself a PAK-file wink

I still can not see it. I even made sure the files were in the bolt folder also. I am doing something wrong. I take and unzip, open the user folder, open ghoul, enemy, bolt, & cut those files. I paste those under the that spot in my SoF floder. Then I open the weapon folder, cut & paste the folder inview & paste in under the Ghoul folder. frown

Sorry, but i have big difficulties in understanding your last comment... frown

This is what you should do: Open the zip, extract the contents (including the folder names) to your SOF-directory! Done, all files are in the correct directories now wink

You can check if it worked, but joining a server or playing the 1P game and check the spots where normally the *****ault Rifle is! The AR should be replaced by the AK47!

If you still have problems, just email me at godh@soffiles.com and i will send you a zip with the pak-file that i created for myself (i allways do that). That pak-file should be extracted to the SOF/BASE-directory... That's all!

How to use it? The zip or the weapon?

I already explained here how to use the zip (and there is also a kind of readme-file in the zip: ak47.txt)... The weapon itself doesn't need explenation, i hope! The AR is replaced but the AK47: shoot to fire some bullets wink

But you may have some troubles on a server that has "weapon stay" set OFF! Coz when WS is set to OFF, you only can pick up this weapon once frown

HY,

I have also made a new enemy and world object for AK47 2.0!

The polygons are 260! really better for gameplay and I have tryed it out with over 20 enemys
in a large woody area!

Well... personally I dislike this gun from the original sub machine gun mostly because IT TAKES UP A QUARTER OF THE SCREEEN!!!!!!!
i can barely see where I am aiming when firing with that darn thing. Its a fine gun but it needs to not take up so much screen size is all and if you would all go play it once more and see what I mean I think you would understand. When the flash comes up from the gun it completely covers and encircles the crosshair. the gun barrel almost comes all the way up to the crosshair anyways. And is it just me or does this gun seem to shoot slower?!?!?!?!

I found this gun to be intrucive in my gameplay. Puke!

Oh I forgot. Why does this fun take up more room then the heavy machine gun? and dont say its cuz the heavy mach. gun is by ur waste. SO IS THIS GUN!!! or thats the way it looks on the pix. but not during play... its right in ur eye. Well, i *****ume this is a personal thing... I like the gun and i am sure that many other players like the AK47 as well!

The main reason for creating a PAK-file is the easy installation as you only need to handle 1 single file! But it is also very easy when you want to uninstall the AK47 wink

If you have the AK47 v2.0a the only thing you have to do is to extract the PAK-file to your SOF/BASE-directory! That is all!

If it doesn't work you might have something left on your harddisk to prevents the AK47 to show up! Check your harddisk for a directory ghoul/weapon/inview/*****aultrifle and/or ghoul/enemy/bolt... If you have such directories on your harddisk, try renaming them/or move them to somewhere else and try again!

First, I would like to say nice, job on the
gun, Phantomas!!! :* Keep up the good work!

Second, I hear you Hallow, but that is what we call destructive Criticism. :-(
I also do not like the flash that covers the target (FunkyDuck...lol) but I have also noticed this with the standard machinegun.

Phantomas has spent a lot of time in making this and I personally would like him to continue making weapons and may be he can find a way to reduce or eliminate the flash from the gun :7

So, perhaps we could just offer suggestions instead of trashing someones work. O+

critics are really Ok if I can check out there a few hints for making my stuff better!
I really spent lots of tme for making these and I had done more If some foundations let me.
But thats another point.

Its all for you here not only for my own.....I like the SOF community and thats the reason while I do this
for the public and surely for my own.
Sharing things is better as "eating it alone in a dark room"

So I´m open for critics as I said before but I hope that you "hollow" makes it anther time so that
I´m able to find out what parts m,ust be changed.

For Flash there is a way...............nobody has talked about it yet but I do here!
All effects are connected in the SPRITE-solder of texturedirectory. You can change it customly or I´ll do it in all the next common
things

It's kinda cool but it could be mucho better!!!

Looks like there are tons of animations missing when I'm playing with the AK, and reloading looks a bit silly, but nevermind, it's ok. I'm gona try your tutorial, hope I can make such a weapon too smile

Well GZA NL, that depends on where you have installed SOF itself... Locate your SOF.EXE and remember the name of the path to that file (for me E:/games/SOF)! Then extract it to the BASE-directory which is connected to the path you just remembered wink

For me that is E:/Games/SOF/Base !

Clear enough??

I know this is a bit irrelevent, but can u safely go back down ladders? IE: wanting to go back down in gf battlegroung without kippering yourself! I've tried crouching and walking backwards but it doesn't work.
Any ideas?

This file comes as a PAK-file and only SOF 1.06 (and up) can read the PAK-file... Older version of SOF are very limited in reading PAK-file!

You *CAN* use it with older version of SOF but then you have to rename the PAK-file to pak3.pak or pak4.pak (upto pak9.pak)! Just be carefull that you don't overwrite anything or your game may stop working!!!

Great work, only two comments: The muzzle fire tends to block the view of the person you're trying to put a hole in, and the gun itself looks like it's a bit offset to the left. The MP5 is really cool, always hated that Ingram : ).

Again, the only thing to do is to put the PAK file into your SOF/BASE-directory... and it should work! If it doesn't you may have something on your hd that is messing things up (start looking in user/ghoul or base/ghoul and find something that may have to do with weapons)!

Is it just me, or SOMEBODY has really bad perspective? Well, I shouldn't say that because I have no idea how hard it is to make a gun out of polygons form scratch. Well, good gun, but I hate the AK47. Its ugly (not Phantomas' fault).

its very cool indeed if you mix the sound to it it is scary if some1 is shooting on you you will runn like hell. eek!
