How to load a Custom Map in Soldier of Fortune?
This Page has been viewed 25,666 times
Ok first off the map file needs to be inside of a folder called dm and then the dm folder needs to be inside of a folder called maps and that maps folder goes into your user folder, Ok after doing all that the path to the map file should look like this
C:/Program Files/Raven/SOF/usermaps/dm
Ok next right click on your SOF shortcut thats on your desktop and select properties and look at the target line, it will look like this
"C:/Program Files/Raven/SOF/Sof.exe"
now you need to add to the target line
+set console 1
so it looks EXACTLY LIKE THIS
"C:/Program Files/Raven/SOF/Sof.exe" +set console 1
Yes exactly like that, copy my example if you have to and replace yours with mine. Now hit the apply button and then hit the ok button and your done with that. So now start SOF by clicking on your desktop shortcut and when you see the word Activision come on you screen hit the enter key and once the first menu is up, hit the escape key and the console will come down((now when in a game you pull the console down by hitting the ~ key, and at the menus use the escape key, in the game the ~ key, menus escape, Got It??))
Ok now to load up any of my maps, say Mayhemmall, type exactly this..

map dm/mayhemmall
hit enter and the map will load or if you would like to load any of Ravens DM maps then you would first type
deathmatch 1
hit enter and then type this to load thier first dm map nycdm1 so it will look like this
map dm/nycdm1
hit enter and it will load, but on some systems, mainly Win98SE or Win 2000, I have seen it lockup at the bullet loading screen, if this happens reset your system and just forget about looking at thier maps, its a coding probelm, that mite be fixed in the patch. Oh you can load any single player maps by just pulling down the console and typing
map tsr1
hit enter and it will load that level (the first level is tsr1) and you'll be in a single player game, its good for switching levels if you get stuck and want to go to the next map
Heres the dm map list
dm/nycdm1
dm/nycdm2
dm/nycdm3
dm/nycdm4
dm/nycdm5
dm/kosdm1
dm/irqdm1
dm/irqdm2
dm/jpndm2
